Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Torontosoft, operating SFXGen from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: hello@torontosoft.com.
The service
SFXGen analyses a short video clip and generates sound effects timed to the action. Output is produced by third-party models (currently Google Gemini for spotting and ElevenLabs for audio) and will not always match the picture perfectly. You are responsible for reviewing every result before you publish, sell or ship it. The service is provided as-is, without a warranty that any particular clip will succeed or that generation will be uninterrupted.
Accounts and age
You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to create an account. You are responsible for activity under your login. Guest use is metered by a signed cookie; clearing cookies starts a new trial and is not a licence to abuse the free allowance.
Your content
You must own the clip you upload, or have permission to use it. You keep the rights to your footage. You grant Torontosoft a limited licence to process the clip — including sending it to our subprocessors — solely to generate the soundtrack you requested. We do not claim ownership of your video.
Generated audio
Personal and evaluation use is included on the Guest and Free plans. Commercial use of generated audio and mixed video is included on the Creator and Studio plans for as long as the subscription is active. After cancellation you may keep files you already exported, but you may not keep generating under a paid licence. You must not use the output to train competing models, or to impersonate a person's voice without consent.
Acceptable use
Do not upload illegal content, malware, or material that exploits minors. Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, scrape the API, or interfere with other customers. We may suspend or delete accounts that abuse the service, including automated guest-cookie resets used to obtain unlimited free generation.
Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in USD through Stripe. Taxes may be added at checkout. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Credits do not roll over. Unused credits are not a cash balance. Price changes are announced on the pricing page and apply from the next renewal. See the refund policy.
Data and deletion
Projects are kept for the library window of your plan, then deleted. You can delete a project at any time, and you can delete your whole account from the account page. Cancel a paid subscription before deleting the account so you are not billed afterwards. Details are in the privacy policy.
Liability
To the extent permitted by Ontario and Canadian law, Torontosoft is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost footage or reputational harm. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief anywhere. If a term is unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the date above is the current version.
