Privacy Policy

SFXGen is operated by Torontosoft in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to ask us to access or delete it. Contact: hello@torontosoft.com.

What we collect

  • Video files you upload, analysis notes, and the sound files generated from them.
  • An anonymous guest identifier in a signed cookie, so we can meter the try-it-now allowance without an account.
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account id, name, email and profile image, as returned by Google's OAuth consent screen.
  • If you subscribe: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We never see your full card number.
  • Basic request metadata (IP address, user agent) used only for abuse prevention and debugging.

How we use it

We use this information to run the product: analyse clips, generate audio, meter plans, prevent abuse, take payment and reply to support mail. We do not sell your footage, train our own models on it, or use it for advertising.

Subprocessors

Clips are sent to Google (Gemini) to spot sound events. Sound descriptions are sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio. Payments go through Stripe. The site is hosted on DigitalOcean in Toronto. Those providers process data in the United States or other regions under their own terms. Uploading a clip is your instruction to transfer it to those processors for the job you requested.

How long we keep it

Guest projects stay attached to the guest cookie for one day, then they are deleted. Signed-in projects stay for the library window of your plan (7 days on Free, 90 days on Creator, one year on Studio) and are then removed from our servers. You can delete a project at any time from the library. Saved favourite sounds follow the same window.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use Delete account on the account page, or email hello@torontosoft.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in Canada this is in line with PIPEDA; if you are elsewhere, similar access and deletion rights still apply to this product.

Children

SFXGen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Cookies

We set a single signed session cookie so the site knows who you are. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Security and breaches

Access to production systems is limited, and session cookies are signed. No method of transmission is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm we will notify affected users and, where required, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
